Only six families lived near an outcrop of rocks (la rocca) in Calabria, Italy. Most of these families immigrated to Western Australia’s Swan Valley following the Second World War, bringing with them their traditional farming ways, traditional skills and recipes. In this book, which is part memoir, part cookbook filled with down-to-earth recipes, the author will share with you the simple yet rich stories, traditions, food and recipes of these migrants, who battled the heat, the flies, the language barriers and isolation of their new home.
